The Run for Education is the signature fundraiser for the Martinez Education Foundation. The race began in 2002 as a 5K race with 200 participants and has grown into an event that has hosted more than 750 runners and walkers. In 2022, we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the MRC-MEF Run for Education and raised $115,000!
All the proceeds from entry fees and sponsorships impact our students directly by being awarded to the Martinez Unified School District schools in the form of grants from MEF.

Bib and T-Shirt pickup: Participants can pick-up their bibs and t-shirts at the MRC Learning Center in Martinez on Friday, September 29th.

Time: 2pm – 7pm
Address: MRC Learning Center, 1633 Pacheco Blvd, Martinez (same parking lot as the MRC Clubhouse.)
Race packets can also be picked up the morning of the race at Main Street Plaza in downtown Martinez.
Run T-Shirt Design Contest 2023
The 21st MRC-MEF Run for Education will be SATURDAY, September 30, 2023! The 5k Run/Walk (no 10K) is a fundraising event benefiting Martinez Unified School District schools.
Each year we ask students in our district to design our MRC-MEF Run logo. The logo represents the spirit of the event and this year another amazing student created an equally amazing logo for the run!
Our 2023 MRC-MEF Run logo winner is Vera Montes, a senior at Alhambra High School ~ congrats Vera! And thank you 🙂
